A Neurobiologically Informed Pathway for Adaptive Transformation
The Celestial Therapy Method™, developed by Rachel Hatfield, M.S., LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S™, TAC-S, is a trauma-informed, relational, and somatic approach to psychotherapy. It brings the principles of NeuroResponse Pattern Theory™ into clinical practice, offering a structured yet flexible path for understanding and reshaping emotional, behavioral, cognitive, physiological, and relational patterns that are deeply rooted in the body’s neurochemical responses to lived experience.
Rather than interpreting distress as dysfunction or disorder, the Celestial Therapy Method™ honors the body’s survival intelligence. It recognizes that recurring reactions—whether emotional, behavioral, or relational—are not broken or irrational. They are learned, biologically embedded strategies developed in response to conditions where safety or connection may have been threatened.
By combining neuroscience, somatic psychology, and attachment theory with experiential and attention-based practices, this method helps individuals reconnect with their internal and external experiences. It supports movement from reactivity and overwhelm toward greater agency, flexibility, and relational presence.

At the foundation of the Celestial Therapy Method™ is NeuroResponse Pattern Theory™, which describes how the nervous system encodes stress through neurochemical “signatures.” These signatures influence how a person reacts to future experiences—often unconsciously—based on past exposures. When the nervous system encounters cues that resemble earlier moments of stress or threat, it can trigger automatic patterns of protection that feel out of sync with the present moment.
This method helps both practitioners and clients understand what lies beneath the surface of those patterns. It explores which internal states are activated, how they are shaped by past relational experiences, and how we can work with the nervous system instead of against it. In doing so, the method supports lasting change that is compassionate, informed, and grounded in the body’s natural intelligence.

The Celestial Process™ (WAAT: Witness ➝ Attune ➝ Align ➝ Transform)
A four-phase framework that guides clients in recognizing and shifting their patterned responses. This structured process builds somatic awareness, deepens insight, and supports relational and emotional flexibility.
Neurobiological Pattern Mapping
Draws from NeuroResponse Pattern Theory™ to help identify where stress-based neurochemical responses are shaping emotional and behavioral patterns in daily life.
Internal and External Landscape Integration
Encourages individuals to become aware of internal states (such as interoception, proprioception, vestibular awareness, and introspection) alongside external cues (like exteroception, neuroception, and relational context).
Holistic Attention Practices
Supports the use of mindfulness, selective attention, and embodied awareness to interrupt automatic patterns and foster change through conscious presence.
Relational Resilience and Co-Regulation
Helps build safety and flexibility in relationships through the development of co-regulation skills, self-compassion, and trust in relational repair.
-
Selective Attention
What we focus on directly influences our emotional state, nervous system activation, and capacity for connection.Sensory and Somatic Awareness
Developing the ability to track internal experiences across interoception, proprioception, vestibular input, and internal reflection allows for deeper self-understanding and embodiment.Relational Attunement
Safe, connected relationships with ourselves and others foster resilience and help shift long-standing emotional patterns.Nervous System Flexibility
By understanding neuroception and how the body instinctively responds to safety or danger, we can increase flexibility and reduce automatic reactivity.Embodied Integration
Healing occurs when thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relational patterns become more aligned and responsive to the present rather than shaped by the past.

Rachel Hatfield, M.S., LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S™, TAC-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™, and Somatic Psychotherapist.
Rachel brings more than 15 years of experience integrating EMDR™, Somatic Experiencing®, CBT™, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Sandtray Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy™ into her work. Her approach is rooted in developmental understanding, body-based awareness, and relational neuroscience.
She is the founder of both the Celestial Therapy Method™ and NeuroResponse Pattern Theory™, a model that explains how stress-related neurochemical patterns become embedded in long-term emotional, physiological, and relational responses. Her work helps both clients and clinicians recognize these patterns as intelligent responses to life experience. With that recognition, new pathways to healing, regulation, and relational wholeness can emerge.
Through therapy, training, and educational programming, Rachel supports individuals and professionals in reconnecting with the innate intelligence of their bodies, histories, and relationships—offering a new and compassionate paradigm for growth and transformation.
Why "Celestial"?
The word "Celestial" reflects the expansive and interconnected nature of human experience.
It reminds us that transformation is not about forcing change but about reconnecting to the vast intelligence that already exists within and around us.
It is a call to honor the quiet spaces between, the relational fields around us, and the chemical and emotional constellations inside us.
